E-Week India Awards 2014 celebrates the spirit of innovating for India First time in Indore at Acropolis Group

Indore, 08 March, 2014: More than seven lakh people were engaged across the country through 5,000 events and activities during Entrepreneurship Week India. E Week is a unique, week-long campaign and is the largest national entrepreneurship initiative. Celebrated from March 01-08, 2014, it seeks public support for entrepreneurship and inspires young people to be agents of change through “Innovating for India”. The campaign is supported by the Wadhwani Foundation and is run by the NEN (National Entrepreneurship Network) Trust.
Led by 80,000 students and 1,200 faculty leaders of NEN Entrepreneurship Cells (E Cells) at 540 member academic institutions, E Week ended in a Central Region Grand Finale Awards Ceremony 2014 at Acropolis Institute of Technology & Research, Manglia, Indore. The finale was attended by students, faculties & NEN representatives from Gujarat, Maharashtra & Madhya Pradesh.  E Cells that exhibited extraordinary initiative and leadership in engaging various segments of the community were recognised. K Rajinish Menon, Director – ISV & Cloud Strategy, Microsoft and Gaurav Jain, Founder, Mast Kalandar delivered the keynote address.
Mr. K Rajinish Menon in his address said, “An entrepreneur is the one who is able to organize, visualize, mobilise various thoughts and resources. Branching out is very important in entrepreneurship. With a strong vision in the mind an entrepreneur must prepare himself to face any type of challenges. A good planning with a right idea, attitude and resources results in wonders that no one can imagine. Young minds know the local eco-system very well. They must always come forward and must identify their interest and work on it.”
Mr. Gaurav Jain speaking on his history of success, said, “When you are ready to start your own venture, just take a leap and do it now. The idea won’t work unless you work the idea. In entrepreneurship you have to revive every moment and break away from the normal. The challenges and objectives keeps on changing in entrepreneurship. One has to be on toes all the time.”
 K. Srikrishna, Executive Director, National Entrepreneurship Network said, “Encouraging innovation is the first step towards winning the future of a country. Both NEN member institutes and E Cell leaders are making this vision a reality through their extraordinary leadership and commitment to supporting entrepreneurship. They are building capacity on campus and the impact is seen in the increasing number of students starting up or joining start ups. E Week highlights their successes, and campaigns carried out to solve the hard problems of waste, power, education, health, sanitation to name a few.”
On the occasion Mr. Atul Bharat, Group Director of Career Development Cell, Acropolis Group took the E-Week pledge. All the dignitaries from Acropolis Group were also present during the occasion.
Two Special Awards
1.      The E Week @School Award was given to Prestige Institute of Management & Research, for engaging the highest number of school students in entrepreneurship.
2.      The E Week @School Innovation Award was given to Acropolis Institute of Technology & Research, for identifying a school project with the most innovative idea. The award was shared by Choitram School, Indore.
E Week Premier Awards are given to institutes that exhibit overall excellence and leadership in increasing the reach and awareness of entrepreneurship. This also includes entrepreneurship programs and activities implemented on campus from April 2013 to February 2014. The following institutes received the Premier Awards:
  • Institute for Technology & Management, Kharghar, Navi-Mumbai
  • Prestige Institute of Management and Research, Indore
  • Thakur Institute of Management Studies and Research, Mumbai
The Debut Awards went to K J Somaiya College of Engineering, Mumbai; Chameli Devi Group of Institution, Indore; and Indian Institute of Technology, Indore.
The non-profit National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN) inspires, educates and supports high-potential entrepreneurs to create high-value jobs. NEN does this by building institutional capacity for entrepreneur support and a robust entrepreneurial eco-system.
