Expert Talk : “Economic Reform and Indian Security Market” by Mr. K Sukumaran, Dean, National Institute of Securities Markets, Navi Mumbai
On 07th June 2016 an Expert talk was organized at Acropolis Faculty of Management & Research, Indore on the topic “Economic Reform and Indian Security Market” by Mr. K Sukumaran, Dean, National Institute of Securities Markets, Navi Mumbai. He Started with a question that what are the weak points of Economic reform 1991, then focused on key reform areas in banking (CAR (Capital educating ratio), NPA (non-performing assets), ROA (Return on asset)). Five Golden Rules told by him for telling How to start investing in equity were – 1. Start with small amount, 2. How realistic you want, 3. Learn from failure (do technical analysis), 4. Invest what you know and 5. Do not get emotional.
At last he told about following points to initiate for investing in equity markets – 1. Invest into a fundamentally strong company. 2. Follow the life cycle of investing 3. Enter into mutual fund route 4. Not to be greedy 5. Learn to sell 6. Deal only with registered Intermediaries 7. Don’t be fooled by corporate governance awards 8. Be honest. It was a great learning experience for us to know about key points of Finance Management. The event was a great success. The event was organised by Student’s Finance Club and Coordinated by Dr Varun Sarda.
