Report on Expert Talk: Scope of Management education in Banking sector
Date : 4/9/2015            Time:  11:00-12:0
To churn out  the best quality humanware  that befits the industry, academia need to centrifuge with industry. Academia establishes theories, Industry propagates practices. To  ingrain  sound theory and   contemporary practices in the students , education  cannot be restricted to  the four walls of classroom. Either students go to the industry or the industry comes to the students. At Acropolis (North Campus) we practice both in the form of industrial visits and expert talk.
In order to connect  the theories  with the practices  of Management an   expert talk had been organized by AFMR/AITR(MBA) , Indore  on ‘Management skills required  in Banking sector’ . The resource person for this talk was Ms Anie Pawar, retd General Manager Planning, Operations, Technology and Treasury SBI, Indore. Ms Anie Pawar spoke on the various management practices in banking and the various skill sets the students should develop in them if they want to make it in this sector. She also spoke on the career prospects in banking and the  bright future of banking.  Banking is full of opportunities and potential,  provided the students are ready for taking up the challenges.  Banking  is a  dignified and   organized sector provided you make yourself worthy of it.
Our honorable speaker who is a successful banker, also  nurtures a passion for teaching. She soon stepped into her role of mentor and shared some of her experiences with the students. The students should be career conscious from early stages and should have clarity of path to make it big in life.  She also encouraged the students saying that life is not always about success but it is about what you eventually learn from your success and failure. No matter what comes and goes always stand by your values, success will eventually succumb to your strength. The learned speaker emphasized on  developing `virtues like integrity, positive attitude, dependability,  humility, and optimism in life. To add flavor  to this  concoction of virtues,  a dash of humor  is just the right ingredient to spice up life.  She  also highlighted the importance of innovativeness and readiness to evolve,  as being the success mantra of today. Learning is a continuous process so keep learning. ‘Experience is the best teacher,  Life is the best school’ ,  this was the  profound learning  shared by Ms Anie Pawar , on Pre Teachers Day.
