Highlights of the session
Mr.Niraj Sharma is technocrat having varied experience of handling large projects related to Banking and technology. Mr Sharma is B.E (ET & T) and MBA. He started his career with UCO bank as specialised officer, later on served Oriental Bank of Commerce. Presently instrumental in crafting and driving digital journey of Bank of Baroda to provide end to end digital experience for the Bank’s Domestic and Global customer since last 1 decade.
He has been actively involved in expanding digital eco system of the Bank,fostering acceptance of Bank’s Digital strategy, promoting Bank’s online presence and optimize the digital experience.
He has successfully implemented Internet Banking, Mobile Banking, Cash Management Solutions for large corporate clients for all their corporate needs providing end to end digital experience.
Mr. Niraj Sharma talked about the customer retention and future of banking. He said that retaining an existing customer is much cheaper, cost 1/10th than winning a new customer, because adding a new customer is time and cost incurring activity. There are several domain of banking such as Asset Liability management, Treasure Operations, Risk Management in which the future of banking lies, because the traditional banking with the passage of time will become automated. Artificial Intelligence will reduce the traditional banking jobs by 40%. The data analytics, high end digital platform.
In the concluding remarks he said that a banker should be well equipped and as a future bank one must technologically strong and advanced enough to cater the customer need and comfort.
