“Creative thinking inspires ideas. Ideas inspire change.”- Barbara Januszkiewicz

Be a start-up or an Entrepreneur, the foundation to start a business is ‘Idea of business.’ For any successful start-up; ‘first comes Idea’. With this thought in mind, ‘Idea Box’ a Departmental activity of Srijan, E-Cell was conducted in the AFMR/AITR for MBA students. The students were given a general management problem statement and had to come up with ideas/suggestions to solve the same. The students had to put their ideas in a Drop box placed in the MBA lobby.

Smart City Management was a project initiated by Government of India in 2015. In the approach of the Smart Cities Mission, the objective was to promote cities that provide core infrastructure and give a decent quality of life to its citizens, a clean and sustainable environment and application of ‘Smart’ Solutions. In accordance with the Smart City mission, the problem statement given to the students was as follows: As a Student, how can you contribute in the Smart City Management? The students came up with very creative, unique and practical solutions. Some of the suggestions given by students were: Students of private schools should take the initiative of developing the skills of students of government schools by teaching them on weekends, Students should make the women in rural areas aware of the importance of sanitation and hygiene by living for some days with them, Every student should do sapling plantation on every special day and take care of the plant for the rest of his life so as to contribute in making a ‘Green City‘ and Every student should take the initiative of counselling and training the old people on the use of digital devices in banking and online shopping and many more. Dr. Prachi Sharma and Prof. Amit Shah evaluated the ideas. The best two ideas/suggestions were awarded with certificates from E-cell.
