Industrial visit – Pahwa Rubber Industries, Sanwer Road, Indore, 4th Nov. 2016
Acropolis strongly believes in supporting classroom teachings with industry practices. The abstract theories and concepts that are taught in the lectures are reinforced when the students see the practical implementation of the same in industries. Keeping up with the commitment to provide the latest state of art education to our students , the institutes often complements classroom teaching with industry tours. In line with the same, an industrial visit had been organized for the students of MBA (Operation Stream) to Pahwa Rubber Industries, Sanwer Road, Indore,4th Nov. 2016.
It was a research and development unit which claimed to have designed & development over 17000 rubber products catering to the requirements of textile, pharmaceutical, automobile, engineering, infrastructure, plastic & packaging industries etc. There was a product gallery displaying all 17000 rubber products developed by the unit. In order to develop any rubber product, one requires the knowledge of design , metallurgy and production , all under one roof. Pahwa industries had it all well orgainsed in the form of design section, RnD lab, tooling section etc. Moreover the company had a well developed marketing wing spread across the entire country to capture customers.
Ths visit taught the students, lessons on product development. During the visit, the students were very eager and excited to know about the various development stages and the astronomical cost that is associated with the development of even a product as small as a washer. The students could see a variety of rubber products in the product gallery, product dies and toolings required to develop those products. The Operations specialization students could know understand the difference and gap between product development and mass production . This MSME was a an entrepreneurship venture of a single sole edifying the philosophy ‘inquisitively leads to innovations’.
The visit had been organised by Prof Juhi Kamakoty under the aegis of Kaizen club.
