The MBA department of Acropolis Faculty of Management and Research (AFMR), Indore hosted a webinar organised by the Ministry of Human Resource Development of India on the Leadership Talk on- Innovation for Resurgent India by Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’, Hon’ble Minister of HRD on August 22, 2019 at 11:00 am to 11:40 am.  The motive of this talk was to help the student understand the importance of innovation in India. In the beginning, he mentioned the importance of the team in any type of the work and also shared his life journey where he was not sure about his career in the starting days. He also put light on the point that student must work hard, which will definitely give them the real meaning of success. While answering the questions sent by students across India, moderated by Dr. Abhay Jere (Chief Innovation Officer, MHRD), Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal explained the importance of education in the life of the students.

 

Dr. Abhay Jere asked, “How students perspective towards innovation can improve”? Dr. Pokhriyal answered that education is very important and along with it students have to also focus on the roots of the education system. He highlighted that the role of Vyakaran, Sanskrit, Ayurveda, and Sushrut in today’s education is also important. He quoted “Jai Javan Jai Kisan Jai Vigyan and Jai Anusandhan”.

 

Further he told that mutual knowledge sharing by the students will also encourage Entrepreneurship in the country. In addition, when he was questioned that if this will this lead to career and employment of the students?,  he answered that all the projects like “Make in India”, “Digital India” and other start-up programs will help the students to find more opportunities and lead to country’s economic development.

He clarified that Education is every student’s right and the concern of affordability of education is also taken care by various scholarships programs supported by MHRD. He explained how the new education policy will blend talent and capability of every student. This will increase the employability of the students, encourage R & D in our country, and therefore reduce our dependence on foreign products.

 

Towards the end, Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal talked about the contribution that students can make towards the nation. He emphasized on water conservation and gave a very simple idea that if every student starts saving one bucket of water every day, it will save a lot of water in the country. Also he insisted that everyone should plant a sapling on every birthday and focus on Swatch Bharat Abhiyan. In his closing remarks, he said that one should not get disheartened by failures, always be optimistic and have a clear mindset and vision in life.

 

Learning Outcomes:

  1. There is no alternative to hard work.
  2. Education will only help you reach the pinnacle of success.
  3. The new education policy will help in integration of talent and capability of a student.
  4. Every student should save water and plant at least one sapling every year and inspire others to do the same.
  5. Failures come only when there is hard work, so do not get disheartened by failures rather learn from them.
