Objective: To create awareness about start-ups and related ecosystems
IIC – Acropolis Faculty of Management and Research (AFMR), organized an Orientation session by Innovation Ambassador for all students of the MBA Department. The session was addressed by Dr. Shahina Qureshi. The objective of the session was to make students learn about entrepreneurship and strategies through which a business can expand.
Dr. Shahina Qureshi is currently working as an IIC Convener with Acropolis Group of Institutions and Innovation Ambassador with Ministry of Education. She has been into various projects like new startups, new business set ups and working as a Professor in the subject Entrepreneurship. She is PhD in Finance and Researcher in Management and Entrepreneurship domain from University of Indore (DAVV), India. In the session, the speaker highlighted various key points such as:
Cash flow Quadrant as mentioned in the book Rich Dad Poor Dad
Genesis of Entrepreneurship and its meaning
Who is an Entrepreneur and Characteristics of a good Entrepreneur.
Various examples of successful companies that have changed the world like Alibaba.com, Amazon, Uber, Facebook, Paper Boat, Madhur Sugar and so on.
Learning Outcomes:
1. The session created a positive mindset among the students about choosing to do a business over opting for a job.
2. A business could be a new idea or an old idea in a new format.
