Seminar on PhoneGap technology : An effort for reducing the gap between Institute and Industry

Saturday 1st March 2014, Department of Computer Science & Engineering at Acropolis Institute of Technology & Research, Indore has developed a new lab on “PhoneGap” technology. This technology is a latest emerging area and very few organizations are exposed to it. Moreover, it has huge employment potential and to age our students with new technologies computer science department organized an introductory session on “Universal Mobile Application using PhoneGap” by Mr. Prashant Jain, Software Developer in e-Planet Infosystem India Pvt. Ltd., Bhopal. Mr. Prashant Jain has working experience in different technologies like PHP, HTML, JQUERY, CSS.
Around 87 students and 20 faculty members of Computer science & MCA department get benefited with this session. During the session Mr. Prashant has given the introduction about PhoneGap and Sencha. In addition he explained various modules of PhoneGap technology like Notification, Accelerometer, Connection, Device, Camera, Geolocation and many more. At the end of the session students were able to design a basic android App using PhoneGap technology.
The session was completely interactive. The feedback of the students was good and they are thinking in future for these types of workshops more from the department about new technologies so that they learn and understand it and make themselves compatible with the updating world.
