IIC – Acropolis Faculty of Management and Research (AFMR), Indore hosted a Session on “How to plan for Start-up, Legal and Ethical Steps” on 30th July 2021. The speaker for this IIC driven activity was CA. Garjana Rathore. She is a practicing CA for the last 22 years. Her area of practice includes Audit, Taxation, Rear management, and Start-up consultancy. The motive of this talk was to understand what ethical & legal procedures are to be followed while planning for a start-up.
The speaker started the session by pondering on the major reasons why start-ups fail. One should be ethical in various aspects like with board members and stakeholders. She covered and explained all the legal compliances while starting a new venture are:
- Business structure and agreements.
- Business licenses
- Labour laws
- Intellectual property laws
- Start-up registration
- Accounting
- Taxation
She concluded the session explaining how the law procedures are different based on the different business structure like partnership or LLP or proprietorship or company.
Learning Outcomes: The session enriched our knowledge about:
- It is important to adhere to all legal formalities done before starting any start-up so as to set up an ethical business firm.
