Stock Market Simulator – August 26, 2016

As part of Induction Program for incoming MBA Batch 16-18, the Finance Club played a virtual stock market simulator on moneycontrol.com. Each team was given virtual money of 1 cr and was given 30 minutes to place trades. They could make intra day trades in as many companies of their choice. Their net worth and valuations were consolidated at the end of the trading period. The activity was scheduled in the computer labs. Then the students were asked to assemble in the auditorium where there was a discussion on how they played, their strategies and stock picking criterias. Winners were selected on the basis of highest valuations and loss protection. Certificates were given to them by Principal AFMR, Dr. Manish Mittal.

The game was played with the motive of sensitizing the students about the importance of investments, techniques on how to be smart investors, to learn to start investing early and to learn how to create a parallel income for themselves. Dr. Anshu Jaisinghani, who heads the Finance Club, was the coordinator of the event and was assisted by all Finance faculty.
