Job Description

The E-Commerce Amazon 1P Sales Manager holds direct ownership of the Amazon first-party business, managing the full scope of user experience, strategy, promotions, subscriptions, pricing, assortment and negotiations. This person collaborates closely with Amazon Seller BDM, Chewy BDM and other customer leads regarding cost-profit analysis, assortment, promotional, inventory and merchandising tactics. This role owns the user experience across all digital product pages, overseeing content and asset strategy, and leads implementation of department-wide tools like PIM, catalog management, and select reporting.

 

The Manager of E-Commerce is held accountable for key performance metrics, including Amazon First-Party gross and net sales, trade rate, POS sales revenue and units, conversion rate, promotional revenue performance, ROI from investments, glance views, buy box ownership, assortment availability, Total Amazon market share progression, best seller rank, variation strategy accuracy, PIM/Catalog tool management, innovation support, retailer content compliance rating, and star rating.

MEASURES OF SUCCESS:
  • Lead the strategic direction for digital catalog assets across Dog & Cat categories and implementation of assets on e-tailers.
  • Lead the e-commerce strategy for Amazon 1P, including consumer experience, driving growth and profitability.
  • Own the digital catalog for all retailers, with direct report managing daily operations to ensure accuracy and optimization.
  • Fully owns the user experience on Amazon including brand store pages, detail pages above and below the fold content, SEO optimization, mitigation of negative reviews, product safety suppressions, variation strategy, with direct report supporting in managing the daily operations.
  • Fully own the new item launch process online for all retailers, with direct report managing daily operation.
  • Directly manage the Amazon first-party business, overseeing all aspects of strategy, joint business planning directly with customer, promotions, and negotiations.
  • Directly manage the Amazon first party business day-to-day operation serving as the main point of contact for any risk and opportunity evangelizing, troubleshooting and solving.
  • Indirectly manage the Amazon third-party business through cost-profit analysis and collaboration with the Business Development Manager.
  • Work closely with the Chewy sales lead to ensure the overall health and performance of the online business.
  • Collaborate on new product development and innovation for the entire company.
  • Manage P&L for Dog & Cat brands, revenue growth through data-driven decisions and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Mentor and develop a team, including 1 direct report, 4 E-Commerce peers ensuring alignment with business objectives. 


IDEAL CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTES: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing or a related field.
  • 5-7+ years of e-commerce experience with expertise in vendor management, profitability, and marketplace strategy.
  • Deep knowledge of E-Commerce platforms, with success in managing both first-party and third-party business.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with a focus on innovation, team development, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Ability to drive growth through cost-profit analysis, data-driven strategies, and market insights.
